I write because I have to...
Because characters will wake me in the middle of the night, and not let me rest until I tell their story. Because lines of poetry will pop into my head while I'm driving and block out the music on the stereo until I give them a title. Because images will sit in my fingertips, making them itch, until I draw the pictures into words.
I write because, quite simply, I wouldn't know what to do with my hands if I didn't.
