About Me

Born as Angeline Farrow: October 1980 in Plymouth, Devon

Educated: South Dartmoor Community College and then Edge Hill University in Lancashire gaining a 2:1 BA Hons in Drama and Writing.

I write because I have to. Because characters will wake me in the middle of the night, and not let me rest until I tell their story. Because lines of poetry will pop into my head while I'm driving and block out the music on the stereo until I give them a title. Because images will sit in my fingertips, making them itch, until I draw the pictures into words.

I write because, quite simply, I wouldn't know what to do with my hands if I didn't.

My whole life has been about creating stories and characters; from the stories I wrote before I was even ten, through the teenage-angst poetry that dripped with heartbreak, through my University years and back out the other side.

But it's not all been about writing. As soon as I could walk I was curving over a stick to pretend to be an old lady, or talking about 'when I was a boy'. Half my life has been spent on stage, living lives that weren't my own, singing, dancing and reading poetry.

I don't think it's about a desire to escape reality, more about making reality that little bit more shiny and polished, so that I can see my face in it.

My true loves in life are still the same as they have ever been: theatre, reading, writing and cats.
